Whether you’re booking your very first wax or you’re a seasoned guest coming in for your routine appointment, proper preparation makes all the difference. A little intentional care before your service can help minimize discomfort, prevent irritation, and leave your skin feeling soft, smooth, and glowing.

Here are our top esthetician-approved tips to get the best results from your waxing experience:
1. Let Your Hair Grow (But Not Too Long!)
Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice—approximately ¼ inch long. If it’s too short, the wax may not grip properly. If it’s too long, it can tug more than needed. Not sure if you’re ready? Text us—we’re happy to guide you.
2. Gently Exfoliate the Day Before
Use a mild body scrub or dry brush 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin and prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid exfoliating the day of your wax, as your skin will be more sensitive.
3. Skip the Lotion (and Self-Tanner)
On the day of your appointment, avoid applying any oils, creams, or self-tanning products to the area being waxed. These create a barrier between the wax and your skin, making the process less effective.
4. Wear Loose, Comfy Clothing
You’ll want to give your skin room to breathe post-wax. Opt for soft, breathable fabrics that won’t rub or cause friction after your appointment.
5. Avoid Heat + Sweat for 24 Hours
Skip workouts, saunas, hot tubs, or anything that causes sweating right after waxing. Your follicles are open and more vulnerable to irritation, so let your skin rest and recover.
6. Keep It Consistent
Regular waxing (every 4–6 weeks) helps reduce hair growth and discomfort over time. The more consistent you are, the smoother your skin stays—and the easier the process becomes.
