I-tip At-home Care
To maintain your I-Tip hair extensions and keep them looking their best, follow these simple steps.
Brushing
- Brush daily to prevent tangles. Use a wet brush with boar bristles for best results.
- Gather your hair into a ponytail and securely hold it at the scalp. Begin brushing from the ends and work your way up towards the roots.
- Brush before washing to avoid tangles during the washing process.
- Gently brush near the scalp and between the rows of extensions to keep the bonds separated. If any shedding occurs, use your fingers to gently pull extensions apart.
Styling
- Use heat protectant spray before using hot tools such as straighteners, curling irons, or blow dryers. Keeping heat styling to a minimum will prolong the life of the extensions.
- I-Tip extensions are safe to use with thermal styling tools such as curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers.
- Use a temperature setting between 270°F to 400°F, depending on your natural hair type. Always apply a heat protectant before using hot tools.
- Avoid using hot tools near the bonding points to prevent damage or fusing of the extensions.
Products
- Use sulfate-free, paraben-free, and alcohol-free products to protect the integrity of the extensions. Harsh ingredients can dry out the hair and cause the bonds to weaken.
- Avoid using alcohol-based products near the attachment points, as they can weaken the bonds and cause slippage.
Washing and Drying Routine

With your extensions, divide your hair into two sections or multiple ponytails to shampoo and rinse more easily.
Shampooing

- Rinse each section thoroughly, ensuring all shampoo is removed.
Conditioning
